About the Role & Team
The Education Safeguarding Officer will work under the direction of the Education Safeguarding Lead and will be part of the wider MASH Education Team. The role involves preparing responses to safeguarding concerns, investigating them thoroughly and appropriately, quality assuring investigations and their findings for the Council, settings, and professionals, and monitoring settings' responses to required actions.
The postholder will collaborate closely with the MASH Education team, the Education representative on the MASH Board, Local Area Designated Officers, internal Education Service Area Safeguarding holders, safeguarding traded services officers, the GSCP business unit, and senior school leaders to ensure clear reporting, recording, and response to safeguarding matters.
About You
The candidate should have a thorough understanding of legislation and statutory guidance, ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and related safeguarding requirements. Experience within the education system, legislative frameworks, and roles such as Designated Safeguarding Lead are essential. Experience working with children, young people, and families, and a record of achieving positive outcomes, are highly desirable.
