Environmental Lawyer - Senior Associate / Legal Director / Partner | 6+ PQE | National Law Firm | Birmingham / Hybrid BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly respected national law firm in their search for a senior environmental lawyer to join their growing team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate, Legal Director, or Partner-level candidate to take a leadership role within a nationally recognised Planning & Environmental practice. The role offers the chance to work on complex, high-profile matters with a strong pipeline of national work and the flexibility of hybrid working. The Role As a senior member of the Environmental team, you will:
* Advise on a wide range of environmental matters including regulatory compliance, permitting, environmental liabilities, and enforcement.
* Support major real estate, corporate, and infrastructure transactions through environmental due diligence and risk management.
* Advise clients across public and private sectors including local authorities, developers, and corporates.
* Handle both contentious and non-contentious environmental issues, including Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) matters.
* Lead on client relationships and be actively involved in marketing and business development initiatives.
* Support and mentor junior team members, while playing a key role in shaping the future growth of the team in Birmingham and nationally.
About You The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 6 years' PQE in environmental law, ideally from a leading national or international practice.
* Strong technical expertise across a broad range of environmental matters.
* Excellent communication skills and a commercial, solutions-driven approach.
* The ability to manage complex matters independently and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
* A desire to help grow and develop the firm's environmental law offering in the Birmingham market and beyond.
