Functional Assessor – PIP (Personal Independence Payment - L4)

Responsibilities
* Interview claimants to understand the challenges they face.
* Carry out detailed assessments through telephone, video, or face-to-face appointments to understand how a claimant’s disability, condition, or illness affects their ability to carry out everyday activities.
* Conduct consultations and write fair and accurate reports as part of DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
* Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
* Interpret clinical information and evidence.
* Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to the code of conduct.
* Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues while meeting quality and productivity targets.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, or paramedics).
* An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
* Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office.
* Essentials qualifications (per professional group):
* Nurses: Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD); member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
* Physiotherapists/OTs: Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist; HCPC registered; MCSP or COT membership.
* Paramedics: BSc or Qualified Paramedic; HCPC registered.
