Site Setting Out Engineer

Rates: £300.00 - £350.00 per shift
Duration: Immediate start - 5-6 months
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Site Setting Out Engineer with experience in bulk excavation, earthworks, and groundwork to join a dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing site controls, setting out works accurately using robotic instruments, and ensuring all works comply with contract drawings and specifications. You will play a key role in surveying, quality assurance, and maintaining comprehensive as-built records. Proficiency in CAD and LSS software is essential to support the preparation and interpretation of technical drawings and digital models. The role demands a strong focus on health and safety, with the mandatory possession of a valid CSCS card. You will collaborate closely with site management and subcontractors to ensure timely and precise delivery of works while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Skills:
Proven experience in site setting out for civil engineering projects
Expertise in bulk excavation, earthworks, and groundwork
Proficient use of robotic total stations and surveying instruments
Strong knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD)
Experience with LSS software or similar for survey data processing
Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Commitment to health and safety compliance on site
Valid CSCS card (mandatory)
Software/Tools:
Robotic total stations (e.g., Trimble, Leica)
CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
LSS software or equivalent survey data processing tools
Microsoft Office Suite
Certifications & Standards:
CSCS card (mandatory)
Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree preferred)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site safety practices
