Mechanical Project Manager
The position offered is to support our Mechanical business, mainly servicing Data Centre customers. The role focuses on clients around London but may require coverage outside London as the business grows. No international travel is currently expected.
The role involves project delivery with commercial responsibility, client relationship management, and ensuring high-quality project execution with a focus on installation quality.
The candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including designers, architects, estimating, account leads, project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, client agents, commissioning teams, and high-profile customers. You will be involved from conception through design, delivery, and project close-out, maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
* Lead by example, promote HSEQ standards, ensure compliance with policies, ISO, and legislation.
* Maintain professionalism in interactions, presentation, and conduct.

* Handle tenders, liaise with designers and commercial teams, and ensure timely delivery of tenders.
* Understand client requirements, technical specs, drawings, and project needs.
* Experience with RIBA design, delivery, and commissioning stages.
* Identify, manage, and escalate risks; mitigate risks with contracts and design portions.
* Manage project sequence and programme, ensuring milestones are met.
* Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
* Develop and close out RFIs, TQs, and technical submissions.
* Make sound decisions under pressure, solve problems logically and laterally.
* Communicate effectively, be driven, focused, and conscientious.
* Manage time well, delegate, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Understand project governance and procedural compliance.
* Be commercially aware, manage contract risks, variations, delays, and EOTs, liaising with QS.
* Understand JCT contracts.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants; be assertive when needed.
* Coordinate work packages, foresee issues, and understand trade interactions.
* Know CDM Regulations and responsibilities under appointments.
* Willing to learn, adapt, and upskill the team.
* Highlight commercial risks and mitigation strategies.
* Conduct PDRs for direct reports.
* Promote company vision, values, and growth.

* Identify opportunities for upselling, cost reduction, value addition, and profit maximization.
