We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, curious, and ready to grow their career in our Finance Operations team. In this role, you’ll join a supportive team that helps ensure Aegon UK’s financial transactions are accurate, well‑controlled, and completed on time. Our team looks after cash processing, payments, financial reconciliations, and contributes to month‑end reporting. You’ll be involved in a variety of finance tasks, building strong foundations in accounting and financial controls. You’ll receive full support and coaching to help you grow confidently into the role. Key Responsibilities include: Deliver daily operational tasks to required standards and deadlines. Perform daily bank, control, and funding reconciliations. Process and reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions. Manage receipt of incoming funds and settlement of outgoing payments. Prepare, process, and review ledger journals – including manual journals, accruals, and prepayments. Produce cash books for Trust based clients. Analyse ledger balances and transactions to identify anomalies, trends, and issues; escalate and resolve accordingly. Ensure financial controls operate effectively and maintain SOX‑compliant evidence. Highlight control weaknesses and contribute to improvements in processes and financial systems. Support change initiatives across Finance by driving improvements in processes and controls. We’d love to hear from you if you have: An understanding of general ledger accounting principles. Experience performing bank or control account reconciliations Strong Excel skills – or the interest and confidence to build your skills (e.g., formulas, lookup functions). Recently completed or working towards a finance or accountancy qualification. Experience or exposure to financial services – or an interest in starting your career in the sector. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities using sound judgement and reasoning. Proven ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic work environments. What’s in it for you? We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
