We are recruiting an LSA for a well-resourced primary school in Liverpool. The appointed LSA will support classroom teaching by delivering intervention programmes, supervising small groups, supporting pupils with additional needs and assisting with behaviour and pastoral care. This LSA post begins January 2026, with induction and handover sessions arranged prior to January 2026 to ensure the LSA can start confidently.

About the role
The LSA will deliver structured reading, phonics or numeracy interventions, support access to the curriculum for pupils with SEND and help create a calm, focused learning environment. The LSA will liaise with class teachers and the SENCo to follow individual plans, monitor progress and feed back effectively. Based in Liverpool, the LSA will be part of a supportive staff team committed to pupil progress and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver targeted small-group and one-to-one interventions and monitor their impact.
* Support classroom delivery by scaffolding tasks, modelling strategies and promoting independence.
* Assist with behaviour routines, support pastoral needs and encourage positive learning behaviours.
* Maintain accurate records of interventions and communicate progress to relevant staff.
* Help prepare resources, support trips and contribute to whole-school events across Liverpool.
Person specification
* Experience working with children in a classroom or specialist setting and confidence delivering interventions as an LSA.
* Strong interpersonal skills, patient approach and good observational ability to track progress.
* Organised, reliable and available to start January 2026 in Liverpool, attending induction beforehand.
