We are looking for an experienced GP Practice administrator or team leader to join our growing team. You will join our experienced and dedicated team of senior administrators who take responsibility for workflow management by constantly monitoring and reviewing our operating processes.
Main duties of the job
You will provide expert support for the admin team leader by applying your extensive knowledge of GP Practice protocols and workstream management including, Task Management, Prescription Processes, Clinical Coding, Telephone and Reception Desk operations.
You will take responsibility for overseeing the effictive flow of delegated admin and reception processes, and be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff within focused teams.

Job responsibilities
The Senior Administrator plays a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the practice. This role involves overseeing and streamlining workflow processes, leading and mentoring administrative staff, and handling complex tasks such as clinical coding and prescription requests. The post-holder will work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure timely, accurate, and safe administrative support that contributes to high-quality patient care.
Monitor and improve workflow systems across the admin team to ensure efficiency and timeliness.

Lead and support a team of administrators, acting as a first point of contact for guidance, training, and performance support.
Carry out accurate clinical coding of patient records in line with practice and national standards.
Manage and process prescription requests, ensuring safety, accuracy, and alignment with prescribing protocols.
Collaborate with clinical and management teams to identify and resolve process bottlenecks.
Support the implementation of new systems or tools to enhance practice operations.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and assist with audits or data collection as required
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a GP practice or similar healthcare setting
* Strong understanding of GP Practice workflows such as clinical coding, task management, and prescriptions
* Proven ability to lead or supervise staff
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Proficient in using clinical systems (SystmOne)
