North Yorkshire Youth, established in 1941, is dedicated to providing learning and personal development opportunities for children and young people.
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to lead our criminal justice diversionary support scheme, aimed at preventing first-time offending and reducing reoffending among young people in York and North Yorkshire.
The funded project by the OPFCC aims to:
* Build self-esteem and confidence in young people
* Encourage aspirations and recognize personal strengths
* Facilitate learning and personal and social development
* Respond to individual and group needs, introducing healthy coping mechanisms
* Promote a positive group environment where young people can support peers
* Enhance capacity to consider risks, make decisions, and take control
* Build resilience and support progression for young people
* Provide one-to-one support for key young people
* Collaborate with parents/carers to increase positive outcomes
* Work with other organizations to support young people's development
* Engage positively with young people
* Offer bespoke, holistic support addressing needs across criminogenic pathways
* Assist young people in identifying and responding to social, recreational, educational, and emotional needs, through work in schools, communities, and online/virtually
