We are a well-regarded law firm committed to providing compassionate and expert legal advice across a range of family law matters. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Family Solicitor to join our busy team in Southampton, England.
Key Responsibilities
As a Family Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload, providing high-quality legal services to our clients.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Handling a diverse caseload covering all aspects of private family law, including divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements (ancillary relief), and pre-nuptial/post-nuptial agreements.
* Advising on complex children matters, such as child arrangement orders, specific issue orders, prohibited steps orders, and relocation applications.
* Conducting client meetings, providing clear and practical advice, and maintaining excellent client communication throughout the process.
* Drafting legal documents, including court applications, statements, and settlement agreements.
* Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and potentially in court hearings (advocacy skills are desirable).
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation and case law.
* Actively participating in business development and networking opportunities.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria)
* You must be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
* 1-5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) specialising in private family law.
* Demonstrable experience managing a full and varied family law caseload with minimal supervision.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* A proven track record of maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
* Strong commitment to client care and achieving the best possible outcomes.
Desirable Attributes
* Accreditation with Resolution or similar professional body.
* Ability to handle high net worth financial remedy cases.
