The Role
We are seeking a skilled Controls & Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the design, programming, and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring smooth integration of our custom-built machinery into client facilities. This is a hands-on role where no two projects are the same, offering exposure to a wide range of technologies and industries.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of PLC and HMI software .
* Take technical ownership of control systems from concept through to on-site commissioning.
* Oversee system integration, working with robotics, pneumatics, and other automation technologies.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
* Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical teams to deliver turnkey solutions.
* Act as a key technical contact for clients, supporting installation, troubleshooting, and handover.
* Ensure all projects meet specification, deadlines, and quality standards.
About You
* Proven experience in control systems design and commissioning, ideally within special-purpose machinery or automation.
* Strong expertise with Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
* In-depth knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and pneumatics.
* Experience programing vision systems.
* Comfortable leading commissioning activities and resolving complex technical challenges.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with clients.
* Flexible approach, with a willingness to travel for site work as required.
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience with SCADA systems.
* Familiarity with other PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff).
