Rotational Midwife
Contract: Fixed term contract for 12 months, 28.75 hours per week, Band 5 or 6.
Overview: This role is part of a small team delivering approximately 900 births per year, providing family‑centred maternity care under a midwifery/consultant‑led service.
Responsibilities: As a rotational midwife, you will be responsible for providing all care to pregnant women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. You will rotate across the maternity service between the labour ward, antenatal/postnatal ward, and community settings.
Development: You will receive support to develop and enhance your midwifery skills in all aspects of the role.

Hours adjustment: As from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. Hourly rates will be adjusted accordingly so pay is not affected.
Criminal record checks: Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025 this role may require a different level of criminal record check. If assessed as a regulated role, your appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Changes to requirements will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
