Clackmannanshire & Stirling HSCP have a vacancy for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work across the Adult Psychological Therapies Service (2 days per week) and Secondary Care Psychology service (2.5 days per week).
The Secondary Care Psychology service covers 3 integrated community mental health teams (ICMHT). The secondary care element of the role covers the whole of Forth Valley but will be based primarily in Woodlands Mental Health Resource Centre at Falkirk Community Hospital. The Adult Psychological Therapies Service is based across Falkirk Community Hospital, Stirling Community Hospital and The Bungalows in Larbert.
As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist in Secondary Care Psychology you will be part of a small, friendly team of psychologists who provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex and severe mental health difficulties who received their care at the CMHT. Additionally, there are opportunities for indirect, multidisciplinary working and provision of consultancy and supervision of colleagues and/or trainees. Within our Adult Psychological Therapies Service, there is a programme of service improvement focussing on waiting times, which will be a focus for this post, and provide an opportunity for service development work. This will be alongside clinical work delivered in a 1:1 or group setting, for adults with moderate-level mental health needs.
Although formal training in clinical supervision is usually a key requirement, we would welcome applications from newly qualified staff and will support supervision training.
NHS Forth Valley Psychological Services have a commitment to ensuring all staff have access to continuing professional development opportunities, and we run regular in-house training days as well as regularly supporting and funding individual external training. We prioritise staff wellbeing, and have wellbeing champions throughout the service and team wellbeing plans and activities. There is the chance for staff to be involved in our research and training group, organising development days, participating in reflective practice sessions and much, much more.
