We deliver enterprise automation platforms to our customers, centered on the NICE Advanced Process Automation (APA) software, a leading RPA platform that provides both unattended robotic automation and attended desktop assistance. You will be joining a small but expert Cloud & Infrastructure team that ensures our cloud environment and automation platform run flawlessly for both our SaaS offerings and on-premise deployments. Role Overview We are looking for a highly capable and versatile Cloud & Platform Specialist to become a key player in our infrastructure team. This person is a true generalist, the kind of “unicorn” who thrives across cloud, platform, and application domains. In this role, you will provide strategic value across all layers: from AWS cloud architecture to the runtime of the NICE APA application. It’s a hands-on, high-impact position where you’ll design and manage scalable infrastructure, support critical application deployments, and advise other teams on best practices. You will collaborate closely with our development and AI teams, as well as occasionally with customers, to ensure our platform is robust, secure, and efficient. If you enjoy high autonomy, end-to-end ownership, and rapid learning in a friendly, collaborative environment, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: · Deploy and maintain the NICE APA platform for customers. Install, configure, and support the NICE Advanced Process Automation application in client environments, ensuring smooth deployments and reliable performance. Become an in-house expert on its infrastructure and runtime needs. · Manage our AWS cloud environment at scale. Oversee a multi-account AWS setup for our SaaS platform, using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline) to deploy changes. We follow a GitOps approach to drive cloud modifications from a single source of truth, ensuring consistency and repeatability across accounts. · Ensure scalability, security, and reliability. Continuously monitor and tune our platform’s performance and capacity. Optimize cloud resources, network configurations, and SQL Server databases to handle growth. Implement security best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption, etc.) and proactive monitoring/alerting to achieve high availability and compliance. · Automate and improve operations. Leverage your scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine processes, streamline deployments, and build tooling that makes the team more efficient. Wherever possible, reduce manual work through smart automation and infrastructure-as-code. · Support incident response and troubleshooting. Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure or application issues. Diagnose and resolve problems across the stack, from AWS networking or OS level up to the APA application itself. In urgent cases, interface directly with customers to troubleshoot incidents or guide them through resolutions in a professional manner · Collaborate and consult across teams. Work closely with our internal development and AI teams to advise on infrastructure and automation needs for new projects. Help developers design cloud architectures, optimize CI/CD workflows, and apply DevOps best practices. Foster a DevOps culture by sharing knowledge and tooling that benefit the entire organization. · Drive projects with ownership. Take initiative to identify areas for improvement in our platform and lead projects to address them. Whether it’s implementing a new backup strategy, evaluating container orchestration for certain services, or improving our Terraform modules, you will drive these changes from idea to reality. While deep containerization expertise isn’t required, familiarity with Kubernetes or AWS ECS to support future needs is a plus. · Continuously learn and adapt. In our environment, new challenges are the norm. You’ll be expected to rapidly pick up new skills and technologies, for example, mastering the internals of the NICE APA platform or new AWS services, and apply that knowledge to keep us ahead of the curve. What You Bring We’re looking for a well-rounded specialist with the following qualities: · Proven cloud expertise: Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and architecture. You know how to design and manage secure, scalable AWS environments (compute, storage, networking, IAM, etc.) and have dealt with production infrastructure. · Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: Proficiency with Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure, and experience building CI/CD pipelines (using tools like Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline) to automate deployments. You’re comfortable with a Git-driven workflow for infrastructure changes. · Scripting and automation skills: Ability to write clean scripts in Python, Bash and/or PowerShell to automate tasks and glue systems together. You often build small tools to simplify your work and are not afraid to dive into code when needed. · Networking and security knowledge: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPNs, DNS, load balancers, firewalls/security groups) and cloud security best practices. You can design networks and VPCs and troubleshoot connectivity or security issues in a cloud environment. · Database and OS experience: Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server (our automation platform’s primary database) – you can handle basic administration, run queries, and work with DBAs on performance. Comfortable with both Windows and Linux server environments. · Containers (nice-to-have): Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS) is beneficial. While not a core part of our stack today, this experience helps in evaluating future architecture improvements. · Quick learner and problem solver: Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies or domains quickly. You enjoy solving challenging problems and can research and figure things out independently. Tackling an unfamiliar enterprise app or debugging a novel issue excites you. · Autonomy and ownership: Self-driven and organized, able to take ownership of projects and run with them. You’re comfortable making decisions and working with minimal supervision, all while knowing when to seek input or approval from the team. · Collaborative spirit: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. You work well with developers, QA, data scientists, and non-technical stakeholders alike. You can explain complex infrastructure topics in clear terms and build trust through your expertise. · Customer empathy: Friendly and professional in customer interactions. When assisting clients or responding to incidents, you stay calm under pressure and strive to provide a great service experience. Why You’ll Love This Role · High Impact: You’ll play a strategic cross-functional role influencing our cloud infrastructure, platform reliability, and application delivery. Your work will directly affect the success of our product and satisfaction of our customers. · Continuous Learning: Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn. We work with cutting-edge cloud tech and advanced automation software, so you’ll expand your skills in AWS, DevOps, and the NICE APA platform (with full support to get you up to speed). · Team Collaboration: Join a small, passionate team that values openness and knowledge sharing. You’ll collaborate with software developers, AI engineers, and solution architects, gaining exposure to different disciplines and making a real team contribution. · Autonomy & Ownership: We offer a high degree of trust and flexibility. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, experiment, and drive improvements. Got a clever idea to enhance reliability or automate something? You can own it end-to-end. · Remote-First Culture: Work from wherever you’re most productive. Our company is remote-friendly, and we foster a culture of communication, inclusivity, and work-life balance. Expect regular team check-ins, virtual collaboration tools, and the ability to integrate work with your life. If you are an experienced cloud/platform specialist who loves wearing many hats and making a broad impact, we’d love to hear from you. Join us at PAteam and help shape the future of intelligent automation infrastructure!
