About us
Kingdom Support and Care (KSC) provides high quality and personalised support and care for over 300 individuals across Fife and Forth Valley. We support the individuals we work with to manage or overcome challenges, including age-related issues, alcohol and drug addictions, autism spectrum disorders, complex needs, homelessness, learning disabilities and mental health issues.
We work with people in their own homes, assisting them to do the things that matter to them and realise their ambitions. We believe that great support leads to great lives.
About you
We are looking for compassionate, kind and invested support workers who are passionate about helping people to live their best lives. If you are resilient, have a can do approach and a great sense of humour you will be off to a great start to be a great fit for this service. It is more important to us that you have the right values, characteristics and share our vision of providing excellent support. The successful individual requires to have the passion, drive and dedication in helping others to live fulfilling lives. Experience of Support and Care, specifically Homelessness would be desirable, although not essential.
Although we offer flexible working contracts, we also require a degree of flexibility in your approach to work and it is essential you are able to work shifts which will include weekend working, evenings, waking nights, and sleepovers in the outreach service if required.
About the Role
In this role you will play a key part of the support team ensuring a high quality of care and support is delivered to individuals within central West Fife both in a hostel setting and within their own homes. Support is provided to individuals in their own home on an outreach basis as well as support for our homeless provision of the service.
Within this service specifically we provide high quality support and guidance to individuals all aged 16+. As a Support Worker you will work with the service users to ensure needs and outcomes are being provided for. The role is centered around understanding the day to day challenges faced by people with homelessness issues, including addictions, substance misuse, mental health aspects and learning and physical disabilities.
The role also provides outreach support to people in their own homes and outreach support services, to develop and maintain independent living skills and to take part in activities in the community.
The service and support we provide is person centred support which is co-produced with the individuals ensuring their needs, choices, goals and aspirations are valued.
The people we support, like us all, can have days where they are not as happy and up for the fun things in life. These are the days when they probably need us and the great support we provide the most. Great support knows what to do at any given time but we will always help you with this so you know how to respond in any given situation.
