About the Role:
As a
Smallworld Senior Software Developer
, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, and the development of custom applications using
Magik, EO Desktop, and EO Web
. You will design, implement, and document solutions, playing a key role in ensuring system quality, scalability, and integration with other enterprise systems.
This is a
contract position
, based in
Reading, UK (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:
* Gather, analyze, and implement business and technical requirements
* Set up environments and configure sessions for
Smallworld 5.x and above
* Develop
complex applications and custom GUI functionalities
* Deliver end-to-end enterprise GIS solutions, including system integration
* Create technical documents such as design specs, deployment guides, and test cases
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality across the lifecycle
* Document functional and non-functional specifications, use cases, processes, and acceptance criteria
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a
Senior Software Developer in EO Desktop and EO Web
* Strong hands-on expertise with
Smallworld 5.3x+ and Magik programming
* Development experience with
JavaScript & HTML
* Knowledge of
REST & SOAP services
and integration with external systems
* Experience in
end-to-end enterprise GIS implementations
* Exposure to
Cloud (AWS/Azure)
is an added advantage
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Bachelor's degree (BTech/BE) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
