Job Title Core Trading Production Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled production engineer to provide critical support for the Core Trading Technology Ultra Low Latency and Electronic and Algorithmic Trading team. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, performance and scalability of real time trading systems providing direct exchange connectivity across 12 colocation sites in 9 countries and have direct exposure to Deutsche Bank’s cross asset trading across FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, Futures, Options, and Equities. You will engage directly with Traders, Development teams, and other production engineering and specialised low latency infrastructure teams to optimise trading workflows, troubleshoot complex issues and help drive continuous improvement in both the processes and the environment.
The role is ideal for a problem solver who can thrive under pressure, able to balance technical ability with business acumen and communicate well to the trading desks. The team follows technology policies for change, incident and problem management with roles and responsibilities clearly defined. Ensure that support procedures and activities are followed diligently and suitably documented.
You will be part of an existing team and will ensure applications are maintained and monitored to provide a stable environment for all users. You will help the engineering culture that seeks to automate and reduce manual effort in order to reduce risk and costs.

Your key responsibilities
* Responding rapidly to production incidents with data driven decision making, minimising downtime and financial impact. Lead root cause analysis and conduct blameless post-mortems
* Enhancing application health monitoring and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience
* Providing clear, timely updates to business stakeholders and senior technologists during incidents and follow-ups
* Partnering with development teams to design and deploy fault-tolerant, scalable solutions aligned with business goals
* Enforcing and adhering to change, incident, and problem management policies, as well as bank specific non-financial risk frameworks
* Supporting the growth of junior team members and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
Your skills and experience
* Proven experience in a production support, SRE, or DevOps role within a trading or financial services environment
* Knowledge of the Fixed Income product set, related market events, market data feeds and an understanding of the trading lifecycle (order routing, execution and settlement)
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject (Computer Sciences or Math or Statistics or similar) or equivalent experience
* Strong technical skills in Linux/Unix systems, SQL, Scripting, understanding of oracle databases, FIX (Financial Information Exchange)
* Strong experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, etc
* Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, OpenTelemetry, Corvil). Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (continuous Delivery) pipelines
