Overview

EQUANS are looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Electrical) on behalf of our Burnley General Teaching Hospital contract in Burnley. This role is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week. A competitive salary and benefits package is offered.

General Overview

* Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations and helping achieve our H&S targets.
* Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through the Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, identifying any additional works required.
* Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.
* Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of EQUANS in the workplace.
* Carry out and assist in planned/reactive maintenance to on-site systems.
* Flexible working hours may be required, which may include overtime.
* Participate in the on-call rota.
* Administer and complete relevant paperwork.
* Maintain a fair, consistent, and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and resolve them.
* Report all issues to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.

Impact

* Carry out electrical planned and reactive maintenance on on-site infrastructure as part of a team.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with clients to develop professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business.
* Organise works allocated in a timely manner and work supportively with the team.
* Submit clear and accurate reports.
* Attend site out of hours as required on a rotational basis.
* Carry out operational activities in a manner that ensures personal safety and does not endanger others.
* Meet statutory and contractual obligations while providing excellent service to customers.

Complexity

The maintenance engineer will complete engineering activities and duties for which they are trained and competent. An Estates management team on-site can offer specialised advice and liaise with management to facilitate specialist isolations necessary for certain works.

Qualifications or Required Experience

* Maintain, service and repair a wide range of building services (training provided as necessary).
* Working with lighting and small power.
* Low voltage electrical distribution system and switchgear.
* Emergency standby generators.
* General and emergency lighting.
* Building Management Systems, PTS System, UPS/IPS, safety sources.
* Recognised electrical apprenticeship and/or qualifications.
* Valid UK driving licence and ability to obtain DBS check.
* Experienced electrical professional with a proven track record; highly multi-skilled in building services.
* Fully qualified electrician; qualified to IEE 17th/18th edition.
* Testing and certification of electrical installations.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
* Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Healthcare environment experience is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to follow instructions, work to plans (method statements), communicate, and report technical information as appropriate.
* Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant qualifications.
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
* City & Guilds 2392 - Inspection & Testing or equivalent (Desirable).
