The Opportunity
A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join the Manchester team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff, delivering a consistent high-quality service for clients, ensuring that repeat and new business opportunities are developed and profitability is achieved.
Your Role:
* Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across various building sectors.
* Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
* Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will attend project meetings and disseminate/translate the brief within the project team.
* Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
* Mentor and support the next generation of professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
* Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record of delivering on a variety of complex projects.
* Experience with modern technical delivery processes and relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
* Demonstrable experience working with clients, contractors, and architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
* Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
* Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
