Spire Thames Valley's Sterile Services Department provides a vital service decontaminating and reprocessing surgical instruments for the whole hospital. You will be involved in the cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packing, sterilising, and distributing surgical equipment according to hospital requirements. You will also decontaminate endoscopes for our endoscopy department within the hospital. The successful candidate will require attention to detail, eagerness, and the ability to learn.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Undertake routine tasks related to individual's health and well-being.
2. Check correct instruments are on trays pre and post decontamination.
3. Pack instruments/consumables for sterilisation.
4. Complete tracking systems accurately.
5. Monitor repairs of instruments.
6. Check functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturers' instructions.
7. Decontaminate flexible endoscopes.
Who we are looking for:
* Knowledge of decontamination of medical devices is essential.
* Basic awareness of health & safety and hygiene.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work on our rota.
* Excellent communication skills.
Contract Details:
Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours), flexible over 4 days (Monday-Saturday, days only).
