About us
Joining an Airbus Apprenticeship Programme could be the ideal start to your career, just as it has been for many of our senior engineers and managers today. Our apprentices receive training second to none, gaining the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to make an immediate contribution when you enter the workforce.
The Thermal Analysis department is a key contributor to the success of a wide variety of space missions ranging from the scientific exploration of other planets in the form of the ESA Planet Exploration missions, to the provision of global telecommunications via the Airbus Defence and Space Eurostar Neo and OneSat families of spacecraft.
What you will be doing
The Stevenage site covers spacecraft hardware design, manufacture and test. Apprentices will contribute to technical skills in spacecraft engineering within your home Thermal analysis function and in related engineering departments. You will also develop non-technical skills related to your responsibilities to communicate and deliver activities in line with technical and operational objectives.
Outward Bound: During the 1st year of the apprenticeship, you will attend a week of Team Building Activities and Exercises at one of the Outward-Bound UK Sites. You will work in teams with apprentices from various Airbus Defence and Space sites on activities such as rock climbing, hiking, abseiling, canoeing, and more.
Requirements
Eligibility: In order to be eligible, you must have a minimum of:
* 96 UCAS points made up of A Levels or other relevant Level 3 qualifications (subject to validation) in a Science and Engineering field
AND
* 5 GCSEs graded C/4 or above including English Language, Maths, and a Science subject

Security clearance: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance or you will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
