Overview
An established HVAC manufacturer is seeking a Pre-Sales engineer to support specification, contractor enquiries and system design. This is an office-based role.
The Role
Acting as the technical bridge between sales, contractors and consultants, you will provide pre-sales support on air conditioning and heat pump projects.
Responsibilities include:
Producing technical selections and system designs for split, multi-split and heat pump applications
Reviewing project drawings, heat loss calculations and specifications
Advising installers and M&E contractors on product suitability and system configuration
Supporting the sales team with technical presentations and bid documentation
Assisting with compliance queries relating to low-temperature heating and renewable systems
Liaising with internal technical and product teams to resolve application challenges
This is a design and applications-led role suited to someone who understands installation realities and can confidently discuss system layouts, pipe sizing, controls strategy and commissioning considerations.
Requirements
Background as an Air Conditioning or Heat Pump Engineer, or Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Strong understanding of split systems, VRF/VRV, and domestic/light commercial heat pump systems
Ability to interpret drawings and carry out basic heat loss or cooling load calculations
Technically confident when speaking with contractors and installers
IT literate and comfortable producing technical documentation
Previous manufacturer or distributor experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary circa £45,000
