Your new role
As a Contracts Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of water infrastructure projects. You will manage contracts effectively, minimise risks, and foster positive relationships with stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include ensuringpliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining quality assurance, overseeing contract administration, and managing both external and internal stakeholders.
You will be responsible for site team management, including recruitment, performance management, training, and development. You will work closely with the project manager andmercial manager to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints. Additionally, you will evaluate the performance of contractors and vendors, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and take ownership of projects to ensure contractual obligations are met satisfactorily.
Your role will also involve identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimisation in contract management practices, maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS), and providing technical and engineering support to design and operational teams. You will ensure the most cost-effective and technically proficient solutions are applied to all projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you must be able to use your initiative, taking accountability and responsibility for projects from inception through topletion. You should possess excellent organisational and leadership skills, be deadline-driven, and have the ability to motivate your team to hit key targets. Strongmunication skills and good generalmercial awareness are essential.You will need previous industry experience in a similar role being able to demonstrate how you can positively affect projects and the business on a whole. Previous experience within the water industry, managing multiple sites while achieving and exceeding financial and programme targets, is essential. You should have numeracy and IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and CAD. The ability to demonstrate the lead role in a construction programme and delivery, manage all HSEQ aspects involved in the construction of large schemes, and understand themercial application of the NEC3 suite of contracts is required. Appropriate recognised industry training certificates and a full driving licence are also necessary.
