What is the job?
The role is fundraising as a 3rd party agent, employed by The Fundraising Partnership, representing and fundraising on behalf of Derian House Children’s Hospice. Your job will be to find more people to support us with a small regular donation so that we can make a big difference to local families. You do this by talking to local people at their homes, being friendly, explaining what Derian House does, and asking them to become a regular supporter via the Derian House Lottery programme. Derian House relies on donations for nearly 90% of its income. These services are only free to families because of fundraising.
What you will do
* Find potential supporters and explain the charity’s work to encourage regular donations via the Derian House Lottery programme.
* Work as a face-to-face fundraiser on behalf of Derian House Children’s Hospice.
* Represent a reputable charity and maintain high standards of integrity and professionalism.
What you can expect
* Salary with commission, with full-time and part-time options; travel costs paid. You will typically work within about 30 minutes of home.
* Full training delivered via home study with ongoing coaching in the field. ISO 9001-accredited employer.
* Typical day involves talking to local people in their homes and building supportive relationships.
Job requirements and details
You need to be reasonably mobile and physically fit and active. We can train you in all other parts of the job. You should be ethical and take pride in doing a job the right way. You need interpersonal skills, to be a good listener and be able to communicate effectively; you don’t need to be highly persuasive or a great public speaker. Real integrity and self-motivation are essential. A car is required; you will typically work within 30 minutes of your home. Full-time OTE is between £30-40k per year.
