Job Description
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a specialist main contractor operating within the UK energy and utilities sector, delivering complex frameworks and alliance-style contracts for major network operators.
Our client is looking for a Commercial Manager to join them on energy infrastructure projects across London, working within UKPN, DNO, and National Grid environments, covering street works, networks, and substation works. This is a 6-month contract, inside IR35, with a flexible start date from end of January and the potential to move onto further works depending on performance and programme requirements.

Package offered for this Commercial Manager role:
· £500 per day
· Inside IR35
· 6-month contract
· Allowance / expenses available
· Working hours: 7:30am - 5:00pm
· Hybrid and site-based flexibility (London, Dartford, Elephant & Castle)
Key responsibilities for this Commercial Manager role:
· Full commercial management of energy sector contracts under NEC4
· Authority to run contracts independently, including WPOs, variations, and change control
· Managing both main contracting and subcontracting commercial activities
· Supporting and mentoring an apprentice or trainee, utilising them effectively within the team
· Working closely within alliance-style contracting models alongside clients and delivery teams
Experience required for this Commercial Manager role:
· Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the energy/utilities sector
· Strong background working with UKPN, DNOs, and/or National Grid
· Excellent working knowledge of NEC4 contracts
· Experience across street works, utility networks, and substations
· Confident, assertive, and comfortable operating with autonomy in senior stakeholder environments
