Senior Electrical Test Design Engineer – Base Innovate

What You’ll Do
* Apply aerospace engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of problems requiring imaginative and practical solutions.
* Research, develop, design, and document LabVIEW‑driven automated tests for electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices, and systems.
* Perform electrical test tasks allocated by the Electrical Test management team from concept to introduction to use, taking particular account of value, design for reuse, safety, validation, and configuration management.
* Ensure the safety and serviceability of used facilities and equipment.
* Create, review, and release technical documentation that defines the requirements, design, verification, processes, and procedures governing electrical test activity.
* Collaborate with technical colleagues outside of the business unit/functional area as needed to accomplish objectives.
* Support the Electrical Test engineering management team in performing activities associated with electrical tests for avionic equipment and systems.
* Work as an effective team member to collectively deliver internal and external customer requirements.
* Support all stages of lifecycle management relating to development and validation of electrical test products.
Qualifications
Engineering or science degree, or equivalent experience following an apprenticeship.
Minimum 7 years within the engineering or manufacturing industries.
Skills
* A sound understanding of electrical systems.
* Able to work with circuit diagrams.
* Proficient user of LabVIEW, MS Office (Word and Excel).
* Understanding of digital and analogue hardware and ability to debug equipment using laboratory instruments (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.).
* Electrical test hardware design experience.
* Understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and health & safety requirements applicable to office and laboratory environments.
* A keen eye for detail.
* Pro‑active and able to use their own initiative.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Collaborates well in a team environment.
* Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
* Appetite to learn.
