Overview
As a Customer Team Leader, you'll lead a small team in a fast‑paced Co‑op store, helping to deliver essential services to your community. Depending on your store this could involve working in our post office, bakery, supporting online services, or our home delivery drivers. Whatever the day brings, you'll play a key role in making life easier for our customers. You'll keep our shelves stocked and support sales, helping us offer even more choice and exciting new services to our customers. You'll be a familiar face in the community, getting to know your customers and helping us stay connected with local and national charities. Plus, you'll be a champion for Co‑op membership, helping to drive growth of our unique business.
Responsibilities
* Own the day‑to‑day running of the store by leading the team on your shift
* Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations
* Work hands‑on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members
* Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes
* Champion Co‑op through community engagement and membership growth
* Maintain high standards and support store colleagues to be their best
* Assist the Store Manager and ensure the store is always safe
Qualifications
* Passion for people and leadership
* The ability to work flexibly and lead by example
* Skills in retail, merchandising, or team management (experience not essential)
* Strong sense of community and commercial awareness
* Leadership skills
* Aged 18 years or older to authorise age‑related sales
Working Pattern
Closing shifts from mid‑afternoon through to late evening and close, with flexible availability across the week to include at least one weekend shift. Either Friday after 6 pm, any shift on Saturday, or Sunday.
