Role: Transport Coordinator
Location: Dereham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hour week – 06:30AM – 16:30PM
Salary: £12.50 an hour, weekly pay
Temporary to Permanent opportunity, Immediate Start
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join a well-established business based in Dereham.
Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
Plan and schedule daily transport operations: route scheduling, vehicle allocation, driver assignments.
Liaise with suppliers, customers, internal departments to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries.
Monitor journey schedules to ensure on-time delivery; proactively manage delays or issues
Manage transport documentation
Ensure compliance with transport legislation
Track and monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for cost saving and efficiency improvements.
Maintain accurate records and data: transport schedules, KPIs.
Handle communication with drivers ensuring they are informed of itineraries, changes, and safety requirements
What we would like from you:
Previous experience in transport/fleet coordination, logistics, or related role.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Strong communication skills (verbal & written.
Attention to detail, problem solving skills, proactive mindset.
IT literacy: MS Office (especially Excel) and Planning software and SAGE ideally
