Job Title: Finance Manager
Wythenshawe, Manchester
Full-time | On-site
Forge Talent is partnered with a well-established and growing manufacturing group in South Manchester that specialises in innovative, sustainability-led products. This is a brilliant opportunity for a confident, commercially aware Finance Manager to step into a pivotal role within a dynamic, hands-on business.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment and wants real ownership of the numbers. You’ll work closely with the Group Finance Director and take the lead on all day-to-day financial operations — from management accounts and statutory reporting to compliance, forecasting, and team development.
What you’ll be responsible for:
* Managing the day-to-day finance operations including payroll, banking, and both purchase and sales ledger activity
* Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
* Taking ownership of budgeting and forecasting cycles, along with preparing short-term cash flow projections
* Ensuring all accounting processes are fully compliant with tax legislation, financial controls, and company policies
* Acting as the key finance contact for external audits, preparing the necessary documentation and supporting the process from start to finish
* Supporting and mentoring an Accounts Assistant, ensuring accuracy and development across routine finance tasks
* Maintaining clean, up-to-date general ledger records and overseeing key reconciliations
* Interpreting financial data to provide meaningful analysis and helping drive strategic decisions at management level
* Handling statutory reporting requirements including VAT and Tax, ensuring deadlines and obligations are met
* Liaising with customers, suppliers, and financial institutions to resolve queries and support business operations
* Involved in costing reviews, pricing analysis, and broader financial modelling to support commercial strategy
What we’re looking for:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or QBE
* 3+ years' experience, ideally within a manufacturing or production-based business
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and compliance awareness
* Commercially sharp with an eye for process improvement
* Clear communicator with the confidence to partner across the business
* Experience supervising junior staff is a plus
