We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our kitchen in Liverpool. This is a hands-on role for a chef who enjoys being in the thick of service while also managing a small team and ensuring the smooth delivery of quality food and service.
Job Description
As Chef Manager, you’ll combine your passion for great food with strong organisational and leadership skills. You’ll ensure the kitchen runs efficiently, meals are produced on time and to a high standard, and customer satisfaction remains at the heart of everything you do. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic chef looking to take the next step into management or for an established chef manager seeking a new challenge.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in line with menus and dietary requirements.
* Plan and manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency during service.
* Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to deliver excellent standards of food and hygiene.
* Order and control stock, minimise waste, and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients.
* Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
* Develop menus that are seasonal, balanced, and appealing to customers.
* Manage budgets, gross profit margins, and other financial targets.
* Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and that kitchen areas are kept tidy and safe at all times.
* Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and colleagues to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
* Support and lead by example during busy service periods.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Chef.
* Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
* Excellent cooking, food presentation, and organisational skills.
* Strong leadership and people management abilities.
* Good understanding of stock control, menu planning, and budget management.
* Passionate about food and customer service with a flexible, can‑do attitude.
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work well under pressure.
