Sessional Child Care Officer

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Workers to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children we serve.
Job Description: As a Sessional Childcare Worker in our Short Breaks Service, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and development of the children in our care. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Providing personalised care, support, and supervision to children and young people during their short break.
2. Creating a warm, welcoming, and safe environment that promotes social, emotional, and physical well-being.
3. Planning and engaging in age and ability -appropriate activities and outings.
4. Assisting with daily routines, including meals, medication administration and personal hygiene.
5. Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
6. Promoting a sense of belonging, self-esteem, and independence among the children.
7. Documenting observations and maintaining accurate records.
The Ideal Candidate should have: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
8. A NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or a related field (or equivalent) is desirable.
9. Previous experience working in a childcare setting and or with children with disabilities is preferred.
10. A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing situations.
13. Understanding of the unique challenges and needs of children with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
14. A caring and patient attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
15. A clean driving license (desirable).
