About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Technical Planner in the Essex area. The role involves providing detailed technical support, insight, and control to the maintenance operational teams across water and wastewater activities.
You will plan, coordinate, and review high-complexity activities related to maintaining and repairing plant and machinery. You will lead teams of internal technicians and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations such as CDM, PTW, LOTO, risk assessments, and electrical safety policies.
You will drive financial value by obtaining the best prices for parts within a £10mn spend, operating within procurement frameworks, and supporting contract reviews by assessing supplier performance and compliance.
Additionally, you will ensure statutory inspections are completed timely (EAWR, COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER) and review performance to identify issues and develop solutions, including maintenance plan adjustments or capital investments.
This role is safety-critical, and a drug and alcohol test is a condition of employment, to be undertaken after offer acceptance.
About you
You should have extensive maintenance experience, including managing minor projects, and familiarity with financial, procurement, logistics, and safety legislation (PUWER, EAWR, PSSR, DSEAR, COSHH, LOLER). A thorough understanding of engineering principles and safety processes (PTW, LOTO, CDM, risk assessments) is required.
A BTEC ONC or HNC in electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation disciplines, leadership experience, or relevant business qualifications are desirable. You should be a team player, capable of engaging technicians and stakeholders, and committed to safety and service excellence.
We value diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds, supporting inclusive networks and initiatives.
