What will you be doing:
As a Platform Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include supporting the deployment and scaling of our global cloud applications. Container orchestration, particularly with Kubernetes and other cloud native tools, will be a key part of your role. You will advise development teams on optimal use of public cloud resources and support the deployment of new applications into production.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure requirements are met, while promoting scalable application practices,
* Utilizing your expertise in container orchestration tools to deploy applications reliably, with a focus on observability and performance,
* Staying current with emerging technologies, bringing innovative solutions to the team, and addressing operational challenges through automation and optimization efforts.
This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the Cambridge office.
What experience do I need:
You should have strong skills in scripting or application development, with proficiency in Python. Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, along with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, is essential. A solid understanding of networking and security principles, along with problem-solving and pattern analysis skills, is crucial.
Additional desirable skills include:
* Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins,
* Proficiency with source control systems,
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, both written and verbal.
