GHMG is a newly established business venture (opened 2025) within an existing motor group that aims to address the poor customer experiences, high costs & low satisfaction scores found within the vehicle maintenance industry.
We are an independent dealership that supports 3 -10 year old vehicles with main dealer standards at affordable prices. We forge long-term, forward-thinking partnerships with our customers, proactively keeping them one step ahead at all times and reducing any anxiety that comes with owning a used vehicle.
The Role
The overall purpose of this role is to carry out MOT tests, vehicle inspections, and general maintenance work to the highest DVSA and brand standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will play a vital role in supporting the service manager in the smooth running and profitability of the Service Department.
USP's of the position
* With adequate investment, you will be helping establish a new MOT bay and processes from scratch, working closely with the GHMG service manager to shape the future of the business.
* Successful execution of the 3-year business plan will naturally create opportunities for progression within the wider service department.
* You'll be part of a small, ambitious team with autonomy to influence how MOT and workshop operations are run.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
* Ensure MOT testing and associated repair work is carried out to the highest safety and customer service standards.
* Communicate findings and advisories clearly to service advisors and customers.
* Help build strong customer relationships by demonstrating honesty, trust, and transparency.
Operational Excellence
* Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA guidelines and company standards.
* Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and efficiently.
* Maintain equipment, tools, and working areas to the highest standard of safety and cleanliness.
* Support the service team with general repair and maintenance work where required.
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure all work meets DVSA requirements and passes internal quality audits.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MOT regulations and industry standards.
* Uphold GHMG's values of safety, technical excellence, and transparency at all times.

Experience
* Must hold a valid DVSA MOT Tester licence.
* Previous experience as an MOT Tester within a dealership, fast-fit, or independent garage.
* Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance practices.

Working Hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with every 3rd Saturday morning.
Note: We are completely flexible to circumstances and will consider PT or flexible working.
Package
* £27,500 - £34,000 Basic Salary
* Reviewed every six months aligned with company performance
