The project: A great opportunity for Senior Project Manager to join our established local government and communities sector within Mace consultancy business. The sector is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth. The existing team has a proven track record of successfully delivering a wide variety of projects of the highest quality across the South of England and Wales. You will have the opportunity to work with various local authority clients and the sub-sectors within the local government and communities sector, to include heritage, arts and culture, education, residential, sports and leisure and blue light. This role sits, specifically the local government and communities sector.
This role offers the chance to direct projects through all life‑cycle stages within a fast‑paced, growth‑focused consultancy. You will manage consultant teams and stakeholders to deliver time, cost and quality outcomes, driving client strategy, governance and assurance while building strong relationships and supporting regional growth ambitions.
The role entails hybrid working, allowing home working with attendance on site or within the regional office (Bristol or Cardiff) at least 3 days a week. This is to ensure development, both yours and that of junior colleagues, via in person interactions in our offices.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Ensuring robust quality systems and compliant project delivery.
2. Managing project planning from brief to construction, meeting milestones.
3. Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver client objectives.
4. Managing risks, scope, approvals and commercial terms.
5. Overseeing programmes, budgets, reporting and statutory requirements.
6. Driving effective procurement, governance and contract administration.
7. Maintaining strong communication, third‑party liaison and project documentation.
8. Supporting team development, collaboration and best‑practice adoption.
9. Promoting sustainable, responsible delivery aligned with Mace values.
