Job Description
The Role:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Co-ordinator will manage all commercial and project co-ordination activities across multiple projects from contract award through to final account. The role will also support the estimating and business development teams with commercial input as required.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management:
* Review and advise on contract terms, employer’s requirements, drawings, warranties, bonds, and related documentation.
* Provide ongoing commercial and contractual guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Attend pre- and post-contract meetings and travel to site as required, including outside normal office hours.
* Manage instructions and variations in line with contractual change procedures.
* Prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations and oversee interim payment settlement.
* Secure timely agreement of final accounts.
* Monitor project costs and produce CVRs in line with internal commercial and accounting timetables.
* Manage cash flow reporting, cost forecasting, and cost control.
* Support dispute resolution where required.
* Procure, appoint, and manage subcontractors, including tender enquiries, contract terms, payments, and final accounts.
* Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and ensure compliance across the business.
* Assist in managing and developing the commercial team and promote strong collaboration with site teams.
Project Co-ordination:
* Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure all approvals, permissions, and statutory requirements are in place prior to site commencement.
* Prepare, agree, and maintain project programmes.
* Attend pre-commencement and post-contract meetings and travel to site as required.
* Coordinate pre-construction information, including H&S documentation and statutory notifications.
* Prepare, issue, and maintain site packs, scopes of work, and specifications.
* Maintain close communication with the Contracts Director and project team to ensure timely communication of changes.
* Assist with the preparation and ongoing review of SWMPs and PCIFs.
