A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a caring and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a nurturing and creative learning environment. This is a rewarding role ideal for someone passionate about early education and child development. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as KS1 Teaching Assistant:
Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce core learning in areas such as phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
Assist with preparing learning materials, displays, and classroom organisation.
Provide additional support for pupils with SEND, where appropriate.
Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working with children in a KS1 setting (Year 1 or Year 2).
Be knowledgeable about the KS1 curriculum and early learning strategies such as phonics programmes (e.g. Little Wandle or Read Write Inc).
Be patient, positive and adaptable, with strong communication and teamwork skills as a KS1 Teaching Assistant.
Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
