Airedale Infant Academy and Airedale Junior Academy are situated in Airedale, Castleford in West Yorkshire. Airedale Infant Academy and Airedale Junior Academy are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer; to join our dedicated team, the successful candidate will work across both our academies.
This post reports to the Senior Leadership Team and involves robustly monitoring attendance, promoting the importance of good attendance and punctuality and providing social emotional and mental health support in order to reduce absence. You will provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who need particular help in achieving their full potential and help these pupils to overcome barriers to attendance.
1. The successful candidate will have the ability to relate well to children and adults, have the ability to deal with conflicting demands and work flexibly. They will also have knowledge of attendance strategies and how to implement them and promote high levels of pupil attendance.
2. You will be a positive influence on the climate and culture of the Academy and have an understanding of barriers to child development and wellbeing and your responsibilities in supporting with these.
3. You will be working with pupils, colleagues and visitors across the school, so you’ll need to love working with people, have very high standards and be prepared to work hard as part of a team.
