Funeral Service Manager
Location: Edinburgh, EH16 5UY
Full Time: 37.5 hours – shifts: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
Salary: £34,000 – £39,000 plus benefits.
Note: this role may involve direct physical contact with the deceased.
What you’ll do
* Lead and coach a team of funeral directors and arrangers across your region.
* Build strong and effective relationships with colleagues to drive a consistently high standard of funeral service.
* Inspire teams to achieve the highest customer care in line with business and commercial objectives.
* Analyse and review management information to spot opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
* Play an active role in the community – building relationships with other Co‑op businesses and external organisations.
* Ensure certified colleagues are supported in maintaining required competency levels for a regulated environment.
* Ensure non‑certified colleagues operate within regulatory guidelines and processes.
* Manage resources across the area to maintain funeral plan arrangement cover.
* Take responsibility for any client complaints and issues.
* Carry out inspections of funeral homes to ensure standards are met and premises stay immaculate and presentable in line with risk, health and safety standards.
