HSE inspects certain workplaces and buildings. We also reach employers and workers through our guidance, communications, campaigns and through stakeholder organisations.
There are three permanent Band (SEO) posts available in the Applied Analysis and Insight Group (AAIG), which is part of Engagement and Policy Division (EPD).
Two posts are based in AAIG’s Applied Regulatory Information unit – with a focus on the analysis and application of data and evidence to HSE operations. One post is based in AAIG’s Research and Insight unit with a focus on market and social research to understand and provide solutions to business issues.
All posts share the following attributes:
1. Generating and actively supporting the application of actionable findings to the design, delivery and improvement of HSE operations, policy, products, services and communications.
2. Supporting AAIG and EPD to commission and be effective end-users for research, analysis and science that is delivered by wider HSE experts.
3. Managing and delivering your own portfolio of work and projects, plus work on larger projects alongside colleagues. Guidance will be provided by both your managers and wider colleagues.
4. Supporting and guiding other colleagues (especially more junior colleagues) in their work.
5. Collaborating with a wide range of colleagues including: wider AAIG staff in the design, management, delivery and application of work; with EPD Policy, Operations, Intervention Design and Communications colleagues, and; with colleagues across the rest of HSE including for example specialists in inspection, science and high-rise residential buildings.
6. You will have the curiosity and rigor necessary to get to grips quickly with new subjects and to understand not just the technical and legal aspects but the implications for HSE, to demonstrate your analyses are well-informed and authoritative but also to ensure your findings and proposals have influence and impact.
