About the Opportunity
As a Principal Physicist, you will be expected to lead medium to large projects or tasks independently, possibly overseeing teams. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of these tasks and interactions with clients, setting scope and providing solutions to their problems. Key skills required include:
* Detailed knowledge and experience within a physics discipline required in the nuclear industry such as transient analysis, reactor physics, shielding, thermal hydraulics, etc.
* Significant experience within the nuclear sector or academia leading challenging technical projects.
* Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide clear judgments.
* Good consultancy skills, including communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, and time management. Experience interacting with senior clients, regulators, or stakeholders is likely.
* Good commercial awareness and the ability to solve client issues effectively in a competitive environment.
* Familiarity with nuclear safety assessments and safety case construction.
Qualifications
* Nuclear master’s and PhDs preferred, or a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
* Ability to analyze complex technical issues and communicate effectively.
* Strong consultancy skills, including communication, teamwork, adaptability, and time management.
