Project Engineer - Immingham
About the role
You will assist the Project Manager in delivering Commercial Growth (new installation) CAPEX projects, planning and managing the programme of works for inspection and repair of tanks, pipelines, and minor projects. You will supervise and report on multiple projects and oversee multi-disciplined contract engineers to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and UK legislation.
Key responsibilities
* Improve project management systems, procedures, and workflows.
* Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams for project proposals.
* Assist with Change Management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support project execution according to plan, budget, and scope.
* Develop scope of works based on business needs, inspection reports, and repair plans, including budgets and timelines.
* Plan and manage engineering projects in line with standards and legislation such as UK/EU regulations, ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA.
* Coordinate downtime requests with stakeholders.
* Oversee contract engineers and support staff.
* Manage resources to ensure safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Report activities and financials to the Project Manager.
* Ensure all activities comply with policies, procedures, and legal requirements, especially safety standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical, Electrical, or Science degree or equivalent professional qualification, with experience in medium to large CAPEX projects on hazardous sites, and knowledge of regulations such as COMAH, MOC, CDM, PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR (ATEX), PUWER. Familiarity with standards like BS EN 14015, API 570/650/653, BS EN 60079, and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. A project management qualification (e.g., APM PMQ) and experience managing ageing assets in the oil industry or similar regulated environments are desirable.
