A leading construction and engineering firm is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Watford. This is a great chance to take the lead on complex civil and structural projects and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
* Lead and manage the design and engineering phases of major projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Produce, review, and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.
* Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure design alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
* Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and address technical challenges.
* Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
* Ensure project milestones, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
* Chartered or working towards CEng status
* Strong design background in civil or structural engineering
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar
* Solid understanding of codes, standards, and regulations
* Great communicator and confident team player
