Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various welding techniques and fabrication processes, with the ability to work with different materials, including sheet metal & box metal. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets industry standards.
The candidate should also have experience of installation of structures, e.g. gates/railings at clients premises, and be familiar with the tools and installation methods required for quality work.
This is an opportunity for someone dynamic with experience looking to build a career and work with us as we expand our business into new areas, growing additional revenue and opening up further areas for expansion. The candidate will help train junior members of staff in best practice fabrication techniques, and help to identify new equipment and ways of setting up a fabrication workshop for high productivity and high quality output.
We are looking for someone who can see potential and is looking to take on more of a business operations role in future. Someone who can be a face of the company, who can assist with the running of the commercial side, social media, advertising, and who is interested in growing a business to a place where they could take an ownership share.
This is a position where the potential is only limited by the individual. Full time, staff position(s) will be available as soon as the business has grown to justify this. A leadership position is also available depending on skill, willingness, and strategic thinking/application.
Responsibilities
* Perform MIG welding to a high standard
* Utilise hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly tasks
* Ability to use a CNC plasma cutter to produce parts & components
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create precise metal parts
* Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any fabrication issues that arise
Requirements
* Proven experience in metal fabrication, including proficiency in MIG welding and stick welding
* Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Experience with assembly processes is advantageous
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
* Strong written & verbal communication
* Basic understanding of social media, basic product photography/videography and marketing would be a strong bonus.

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
