Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in SEND / SEMH to join our Foundation Learning department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

* Dynamic Teaching Role – Deliver engaging sessions in Functional Skills (Maths & English), Employability, and Personal Development, adapting to diverse needs including EHCPs and SEND learners.

* Ideal Candidate Profile – You’re empathetic, resilient, and passionate about helping SEMH learners succeed, with strong classroom management and a flexible, collaborative mindset.
* Commitment to Safeguarding – Uphold responsibilities in safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and continuous professional development in line with college policies.
About You
* Qualified or Progressing – Holds a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd) or is currently working towards one.
* SEMH Experience – Brings experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or similar vulnerabilities.
* Curriculum Knowledge – Demonstrates strong understanding of Functional Skills and/or Employability programmes.
* Key Skills – Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal abilities.
* Inclusive Approach – Committed to delivering trauma-informed, inclusive education.
