The business partners with founders, leadership teams and investors to accelerate commercial success in fast-growing climate-tech markets.
Their client portfolio spans a broad range of technologies and solutions, including (but not limited to): Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV, EV Charging Infrastructure, Marine Technology and Green Hydrogen, Offshore and construction. The team combines deep sector knowledge with hands-on commercial expertise to help companies move from early traction to scalable, repeatable growth.
Role Purpose
As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating growth for early-stage and scaling clean-tech businesses. Working as part of a team of ambitious consultants, you will lead business development and account growth activities across the clean-energy ecosystem, translating market insight into commercial opportunity.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone who understands the clean-energy landscape, thrives on building relationships and enjoys helping ambitious climate-tech companies’ scale.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
* Lead sector-focused business development across organisations driving the energy transition, delivering solutions across technologies such as Offshore Cabling, Construction, BESS, Solar PV, EV charging, Wind, Marine and Hydrogen.
* Work closely with clients to understand their commercial strategy, target markets and growth ambitions.
* Undertake business development activities for clients as an extension of their business.
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline through outreach, calls, networking and direct engagement with industry stakeholders (OEMs, developers, integrators, utilities and investors).
* Develop long-term relationships that generate qualified opportunities, strategic partnerships and new revenue streams to meet targets set.
Key Account Growth
* Manage a portfolio of client accounts, taking full ownership of relationship management and growth.
* Develop a deep understanding of each client’s technology, business model, market positioning and commercial challenges.
* Set annual, quarterly and monthly objectives in collaboration with senior leadership.
* Drive measurable pipeline growth, improved conversion rates and increased revenue for each key client.
* Lead proactive renewal discussions and support strong client retention.
Client Delivery & Reporting
* Run weekly or fortnightly client progress meetings, covering pipeline status, risks, opportunities and priorities.
* Produce clear, results-focused quarterly reports for clients.
* Contribute to internal quarterly reporting covering performance, sector insights and pipeline health.
* Use internal CRM and reporting tools (HubSpot, Microsoft Office, Teams, Bloom Growth) to manage pipeline and communication effectively.
Person Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
* Proven experience in sales or business development within construction, marine, sustainability, energy or environmental sectors.
* Strong understanding of, or interest in, one or more of the following areas: Offshore, Construction, BESS, Solar PV, EV charging, Wind, Marine, Hydrogen, grid services or related clean-energy technologies.
* Demonstrated experience managing strategic client accounts and delivering against ambitious growth targets.
* Experience operating strategically to position businesses effectively and open new commercial opportunities.
Skills & Attributes
* Confident communicator and relationship-builder, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
* Proactive, persistent and self-managing, with a hands-on approach to delivery.
* Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and reporting skills.
* Comfortable using CRM and business systems (HubSpot experience preferred).
* Energetic, inquisitive and commercially minded, with a desire to grow responsibility as the role develops.
