ServiceNOW Senior Technical Consultant
Location: Hybrid role based in Derby
Salary: Dependent on Experience

The role
As a ServiceNow Senior Technical Consultant you will be part of an innovative team, working to develop world‑class customer solutions using the ServiceNow platform. You will provide technical consulting services to clients, contribute to the design and delivery of technical solutions—including customizing package‑based solutions, data design and conversion, technically‑focused testing, and configuring technical infrastructure components—and serve as a technical resource on the team. You will develop and demonstrate specialized knowledge and skills in ServiceNow as an enterprise solution, focusing on designing and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform and providing guidance, thought leadership, and hands‑on development to both our client and internal technical resources.
Responsibilities
* Deliver ServiceNow solutions to multiple customers as part of a team of specialists.
* Participate in client workshops and requirements gathering to build requirements and design solutions. Advise and make recommendations on proposed solutions.
* Develop defined solutions in ServiceNow to meet requirements to a high standard, including configuration, scripting, testing, demonstrations, UAT and go‑live support.
* Mentor and train more junior members of the team.
* Produce documentation and training material for the implemented solutions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in ServiceNow design and development, preferably in a consulting environment. Scripting skills such as JavaScript, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, AJAX, and AngularJS are highly advantageous. The candidate should have an understanding of Service Management concepts, delivery assurance principles and procedures, and a high level of knowledge of the ServiceNow application. Experience building custom applications and integrations with other platforms is also desirable.
Ideally you will have obtained some of the following certifications:
* ServiceNow Certified Administrator
* ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist
* ServiceNow Application Developer
* ITIL Foundation
Additional specialist ServiceNow certifications or experience such as HR, CSM, FSM, Service Portal, CMDB, SAM, Discovery, ITOM, ITBM, PPM would be an advantage.
You will need strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to present solutions to customers including senior management, and be highly focused on providing strong customer service. You must be able to work both as part of a team and independently to meet project timelines, be proactive, creative, willing to research solutions, make recommendations, and take on new challenges. Working from home and traveling to client locations for meetings and workshops or on-site work for periods where required will also be necessary.
