The Designer is responsible for the process of converting a client's concept into a "designed for manufacture" drawing pack with a costed "Bill of Materials". The design function for a project is completed at the point of inspection prior to delivery.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities for Progression of Orders
* Check technical feasibility with senior craftsman and workshop manager
* Produce technical drawings for clients and job packs for the production team
* Produce material specification in conjunction with production team and purchasing
* Regularly meet with production team to ensure accuracy of end product
* Inspect product prior to delivery
* Processing design requests/changes, updating drawings & BOM's
* Inspect products prior to delivery.
* Be the designated designer for a range of products.
Management
* Ensure projects are managed through the business accurately and efficiently
* Monitor the design schedule, prioritising workloads
* Help fellow design team members and aid the general working of the design team.
Client Contact
* Attend client design meetings.
* Progress emails and technical support for clients.
Responsibility to Company
* Accurately and efficiently produce drawings/designs that fit the clients brief and are within budget
* Ensure projects are thoroughly worked out prior to production and managed through to completion
