West Berkshire Council is seeking an Academy Senior Social Worker to join our Children and Family Services team, reporting to the Principal Social Worker and Academy Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of social work practice while supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
About The Role
* Supporting the Academy Manager and Principal Social Worker in the delivery of the Social Work Academy
* Contributing to the implementation of the Social Work Reforms Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between social work teams and the Academy
* Providing advice, guidance, and support to less experienced Social Workers, Social Work Students and alternatively qualified practitioners.
* Participating in the assessment and evaluation of social work practice in the service.
* Contributing to the delivery of training and development initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of social work practice are maintained, ultimately leading to better outcomes for children and families.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes
* Experienced Social Worker with a minimum of four years' frontline practice (including ASYE)
* Previous experience in a mentoring or supervisory role is desirable
* Sound knowledge of social work legislation, regulations, and best practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate others
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Commitment to continuous professional development
