EOI-XA7655- Expression of Interest - Temporary Ops District Training Officer (Continuous Improvement Team) Expression of Interest Location Carr Gate, Wakefield Type of Contract Secondment Role Profile Attachment Job Advert THIS IS AN EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ROLE FOR POLICE STAFF ONLY Job Role: Temporary Ops District Training Officer Location: Carr Gate, Wakefield Hours: 37 Number of posts: 1 The Operations Continuous Improvement Team (CIT) is seeking expressions of interest from a Staff member to undertake the role of Temporary District Training Officer, providing sickness cover with an immediate start. This opportunity comes at a critical point in the revamp and restructure of our training provision, and additional capacity is required to ensure continuity, momentum and quality during this period of change. The role will offer valuable exposure to force-wide learning and development activity and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to future training design and delivery. The successful candidate will support the development, delivery and maintenance of learning interventions, working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation. Minimum Knowledge and Experience Requirements - A minimum of Level 3 Training qualification, or an equivalent qualification is a mandatory criterion, as you will be expected to prepare, facilitate and deliver training sessions. - Completion of their probationary period Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:- - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Good working knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems, including Microsoft applications - A clear commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in role-related skills and knowledge - Knowledge of current learning and development processes within West Yorkshire Police Confidence and competence in facilitating learning by: - Creating an effective and inclusive learning environment - Using clear communication techniques and constructive feedback - Delivering engaging presentations using appropriate visual aids - Facilitating scenario-based group work to support applied learning - Monitoring learner progress and responding to individual needs - Managing challenging learning situations, including resistance to change Would be desirable (not essential) to have: Prior knowledge and experience of command responsibilities or control room management relevant to their sector. Awareness of multi-agency working practices, including those applicable during major incidents. This role would suit someone who is motivated, organised, and keen to support organisational improvement at pace during a key transitional period.
